The Hunter 430 is built to perform with style and comfort. She is fast, easy to sail, stable and comfortable. Thoughtful touches abound, like sail design that incorporates a fractional rig, swept-back spreaders and a full-roach main. This eliminates the need for a backstay and improves sail efficiency and ease of handling. The exterior design of the 430 include a wraparound windshield with cover, integrated mainsheet arch with instrument pod, two-tone non-skid deck, walk-through transom, and a huge cockpit with wheel steering. A slippery but stable hull design incorporates a bulb wing keel and a spade rudder. Below deck are the amenities that make Hunter famous. A huge salon with convertible dinette, gourmet galley and twin staterooms, each with enclosed head and shower. A tri-cabin floor plan is also available.

If you are familiar with this vintage Hunter 430, you know that the way that the manufacturer did the main Chain plates was somewhat questionable. There appears to be at least one documented Chain plate failure of the original design on the internet. This boat has had its Chain plates redone about 6 years ago and done the way that they should have been originally. Not because of a failure but as prevention. The Chain plates were designed, built and installed by the famed crew at Valiant Yachts. Much of the interior was disassembled during the process, the hull was reinforced and heavy duty Stainless Steel Chain plates with Stainless steel backing plates were thru-bolted into the hull. Once seen, you'll agree its a very impressive installation. These should give the boat owner great peace of mind for many years of use.
